During our induction children are assigned a key person who will work with parents to identify children’s key strengths and needs of their child. Parents are offered opportunities to stay with their child on first visits settling them into our nursery and developing a relationship with their key person.

Working with parents, we put the child at the heart of what we do supporting the child and providing an effective and high quality standard of care. Staff plan around their key children’s next steps and children’s interests to promote a positive outcome in their learning. A tailored individual learning plan will be created and reviewed every six weeks.

As well as meeting our statutory requirements contained within the EYFS supporting your child’s development in the prime areas of;

I’m happy I chose Maggie’s Day Nursery, the staff are amazing and accommodating, my kids love the nursery as they always look forward to being at the nursery. I see the excitement on their faces and their relationship with the teachers; this gives me the confidence that my kids are in safe hands and I have no reason to worry. I’m impressed with the learning as well, the teachers are really good at what they do.

My Experience with Maggie’s Day Nursery has been good. The staff members are caring and very friendly (Hannah, Jessica) and also professional and knowledgeable. I assume that they create a warm and stimulating environment where children can learn and grow. The best thing is that Ayaan loves going to nursery very much. So, as a parent I am delighted too. Thanks

Maggie’s Day Nursery is an amazing nursery that has helped my daughter learn and develop. She has developed in her speech and everyday she came home with new things she had learned. She is well cared for and she loves going there everyday. The staff are extremely motivated, friendly and very approachable.

My Son started Maggie’s when he was 9 months old. I looked at so many nurseries and this was my saving grace. I was so nervous at first because my son had really bad separation anxiety. The staff listened to his needs and noted down everything they could from routine to like and dislikes to help him settle in. They were reassuring. The staff have been absolutely amazing with my little squishy. He has come on leaps and bounds and so many of my friends can’t believe how confident he is now and more relaxed with leaving me for a short period of time. Cooper always has fun at nursery doing lots of activities from growing plants, painting, sand and being in the garden. The staff are really good at communicating with you about how the day went and what they got up to. I feel like they generally care about your child. The child isn’t just a number but one of their own. I’ve been really impressed with the care and attention they have had with my son. I’m glad I found them.

Maggie’s Day Nursery, in Pevensey Road, was given the rating after an inspection in August. Inspectors found that the school was ‘good’ in all areas – including: behaviour; personal development; leadership and management, and early years provision. The report said: “Children appear happy, independent and safe.” Staff set high expectations for children’s behaviour and manners, and children enjoy spending time with staff. “Staff know what they want children to learn and are good at adapting teaching to suit the needs of children, including those with SEND, while they play.”

The nursery ‘provides a safe, calm, homely environment’ for children aged from three-months-old to five-years-old, according to its website. Speaking about the outcome of the inspection, Margaret Padmore, co-owner of the nursery, said: “We are thrilled with our recent Ofsted inspection which rated us ‘good’. “Children’s unique personalities are valued and their interests encouraged, by caring and nurturing staff,” the inspector added.

Pupils are encouraged to bring in their favourite book from home to share with their friends, which ‘helps begin a life-long love of books for the children and their families’, according to the report. The inspector added: “Children love listening to staff who sing and read them stories.”

Ofsted added that there is an ‘open and positive culture’ around safeguarding that ‘puts children’s interests first’.
